Glad attempt to block Vote on SDSU West plan failed in court
Re “Judge rejects lawsuit aimed at keeping SDSU West proposal off November ballot” (June 16): Although I was pleased to find out that the Superior Court of California denied the lawsuit of FS Investors because it lacked merit, I was alarmed that the SoccerCity backers would resort to such a tactic.
Even though FS Investors has claimed to welcome competition, it seems they’d rather distract away from the real issues with their initiative by resorting to a lawsuit to remove the competition.
We should be discussing the topics that truly matter, like growing our economy, creating expanded opportunities for higher education and guaranteeing that San Diegans can help shape the future of the stadium site through an open process.
SDSU West the right choice for valley site
It is no surprise that the Superior Court of California sided with SDSU West. This decision supports the goal of SDSU West as the only initiative that would help facilitate the growth of San Diego State University through an open, transparent and comprehensive public process.
While the university cannot officially endorse the measure, this past week’s ruling declares that the university’s interests are clearly aligned with that of the SDSU West initiative. This ruling paired with the University’s “SDSU Mission Valley” plan further underscore this fact.
Now, more than ever, it is incredibly apparent the SDSU West initiative is the right choice for San Diego and the university. Go Aztecs.
